We are very proud to share that our Blue Sky Pest Control case has now been recognised twice!

On 3 July 2026, the case made the shortlist for the Global Search Awards 2026. Then, on 14 August 2026, it made the shortlist again, this time for the US Search Awards 2026, in the category Best Use of Search – B2C (PPC). We believed in this case from the start, but watching it get picked up by a second jury within six weeks still felt extra special.

We’re a team of 10 people. Most agencies on award shortlists like these are many times our size, so having the same piece of work recognised on a global stage and a US one means a lot to us.

The case behind both nominations

The case is built around a Google Ads rebuild we did for Blue Sky Pest Control, a US pest control company. The account had performed well for years, but the setup underneath it had become cluttered: too many small campaigns, rising click costs (up to 200 per click), Performance Max competing with the account’s own stronger search campaigns, and budget decisions that had started following habit rather than performance.

But instead of adding more complexity, we went back to the basics. We consolidated the account, gave Google’s bidding system better data to work with, capped expensive clicks, and moved budget toward what was converting rather than what had always gotten it.

That thinking was the heart of the case we submitted to both award panels. We wrote up the full story, the account problem, the five moves we made, and the results, in our Global Search Awards news article and in the US Search Awards’ own feature on the case.

Why this matters to us

We care about this a lot, and not only because of the recognition itself. We are thrilled to see a case about discipline, structure, and expert judgement make it to the finals. That’s the belief behind how we think about Google Ads decisions in general: stay close to the numbers, stay honest about what isn’t working, and fix the foundations before reaching for anything shiny.

Having that kind of work recognised twice, in the same year, by two separate panels, feels genuinely gratifying.

“I am so proud of the team. Every single day, they are the ones who go and make results like this happen.”

Dominique Roelofs, CEO of Adverge

What’s next

The Global Search Awards winners are announced on 23 September 2026, and the US Search Awards ceremony follows two weeks later, on 7 October 2026. Whatever happens on either night, this case already proved the point we set out to make: discipline and structural judgement beat blind automation.

Frequently asked questions

What award categories was Adverge shortlisted in?

Both nominations are in Best Use of Search – B2C (PPC), for the Global Search Awards and the US Search Awards 2026.

What is the Blue Sky Pest Control case about?

It’s a Google Ads rebuild for a US pest control company. We consolidated a cluttered account, paused Performance Max where it was competing with better-performing search campaigns, capped click costs, and reallocated budget based on what was converting. The full story is in our Global Search Awards article and in the US Search Awards’ own feature on the case.

Is this kind of account restructure specific to pest control or B2C companies?

No. The problem, fragmented campaigns, automation competing with itself, budget following habit instead of performance, shows up across the B2C and B2B accounts we manage. The fix is the same regardless of industry: consolidate, cap, and follow the data.

When will the winners be announced?

The Global Search Awards winners are announced on 23 September 2026. The US Search Awards ceremony follows on 7 October 2026.
